History of GBC
The beginning of Guido Bible College has its roots in the early ministry of The Guido Evangelistic Association. Although no certificates, diplomas or degrees were awarded, the founder, Michael A. Guido, D.D., was well-known and deeply loved for his knowledge of God’s Word and his ability to teach the truths of Scripture in heart-warming and life-changing Bible studies. Traveling throughout the state of Georgia and across America his interpretation of the Bible and explanation of the message and meaning of profound themes and doctrines resulted in a teaching ministry that included radio and television programs as well as numerous publications that covered the globe. Before Dr. Michael Guido passed, he created the Michael Guido School of Evangelism, which laid the foundation for Guido Bible College founded in 2010, to educate ministers, evangelists, lay leaders, teachers, and others who want to develop their gift of ministry.
GBC is a ministry-focused four-year Christian college located on the campus of the Guido Evangelistic Association in Metter, Georgia that is dedicated to training the next generation of Sowers to Discern, Develop and Disciple the world.
With extensive studies in all areas of knowing, understanding, applying and sharing the message of the Gospel the College is committed to “doing things no other evangelical ministry has ever done to reach individuals who have never been reached before.” This resulted in developing a program of study to educate and equip Christian leaders, both to be full-time and bi-vocational ministers.
Currently in its 14th year, Guido Bible College is different than other colleges in the curriculum that is taught as well as in the way the instruction is delivered. Programs of instruction at GBC are the Certificate of Old Testament, Certificate of New Testament, Associate of Arts in Biblical Studies, Diploma in Biblical Studies and Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies and Christian Leadership. The linear programs begin with teaching a thorough review of the Old and New Testaments and essentials of the Christian Faith, moving into theology, apologetics, evangelism and discipleship, on to philosophy, pastoral care and church administration, culminating in an intensive two-year program of advance Biblical studies and ministry specialization. The education programs of Guido Bible College are taught through a cohort model in which a team of students travel through the curriculum together. Learning is multi-faceted with six methods of instruction utilized to reach the goals of the instructors. The methods of instruction used are traditional classroom instruction, guided class interaction, Christian ministry service projects, online research and sharing related to class topics, applied theology and student Christian ministry service, and oral presentations of online research papers through spiritual formation and ministry groups. GBC has placed over twenty graduates in churches as Pastors, Youth Ministers and other church leaders.
Guido Bible College is Christ-exalting, Word-focused, prayer-centered, and servant-driven, and committed to “making disciples who will make other disciples.” Our faculty members are well known and highly respected for the effectiveness of their ministries and service as well as their superior knowledge of and ability to interpret and “bring to life” God’s Word. They uniquely and purposely integrate Scripture for successful Christian living. Their teaching fulfills our mission: we exist to educate, equip, enable and empower Christians to discover their purpose and place in life to minister God’s grace wherever He leads them. We believe that God continually presents Christians with endless opportunities to share His Message of love, salvation, hope, and eternal life. More than gaining knowledge about the Bible, GBC is where students gain knowledge and learn skills that will prepare them to find fulfillment and purpose in a life worth living as you serve God wherever He leads you in the plan He has designed especially for you.
